Our Mission & Vision

Discover God’s Grace and Love in our everyday life

through the Bible

as a Family

We gather together to share the word of God encouraging one another and engaging in fellowship .

By speaking the truth with love, let’s grow in every way into Christ,  who is the head. The whole body grows from him, as it is joined and held together by all the supporting ligaments. The body makes itself grow in that it builds itself up with love as each one does its part. (Ephesians 4:15-16 CEB)

as a Disciple

We believe in Jesus and seek to follow him in our daily life.

The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers.  A sense of awe came over everyone. God performed many wonders and signs through the apostles.  All the believers were united and shared everything.  They would sell pieces of property and possessions and distribute the proceeds to everyone who needed them. Every day, they met together in the temple and ate in their homes. They shared food with gladness and simplicity. They praised God and demonstrated God’s goodness to everyone. The Lord added daily to the community those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47 CEB)

as a Worshiper

We praise, pray and meditate on God's Word throughout our daily lives.

The truly happy person doesn’t follow wicked advice, doesn’t stand on the road of sinners, and doesn’t sit with the disrespectful.
Instead of doing those things, these persons love the Lord’s Instruction, and they recite God’s Instruction day and night!
They are like a tree replanted by streams of water, which bears fruit at just the right time and whose leaves don’t fade.     Whatever they do succeeds. (Psalm 1:1-3 CEB)

as a Friend

We like to listen and help, laugh and cry together with compassion.

This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you.  No one has greater love than to give up one’s life for one’s friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command you. (John 15:12-14 CEB)

 our Pastor

Rev. DongKeun Lee

Hallelujah! Greetings in the name of our great Lord.

While studying in United States in 2003, I  was called by God to give my heart to the Korean immigrant church and the ministry’s of this field. Following the voice of the Lord, my journey started in New York,  where  my first pastoral field was. My faith in the Lord carried me through New Hampshire, and finally to set my pastoral roots here in the Chicagoland area.

Amidst many ministries, I have a vision to build a “family-like church community”, where God’s love and grace is shared through the Word of God. I want to experience and grow together  through “the same lens”, the lens of God’s love and promise.

I have a pastoral calling to help people recognize they are called by God to be disciples of Jesus Christ, and to help them boldly follow that path.

It is our Faith in God’s promise that the Orland Park First KUMC will become such a place, where the Holy Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ will dwell.
